Plaid & Chevron in Tokyo

Target Girl's Vest (identical) / Smart Set Plaid Top (save, splurge) / Francesca's Collections Chevron Skirt / Target Stockings / Vince Camuto Boots via eBay / Target Sunglasses / Michael Kors Watch / Danier Handbag (save, splurge)

Just looking at these photos of sunny Tokyo is making me miss it even more. Our first full day there we were blessed with awesome weather and I got to get funky with my print mixing. I went for an overall theme of navy & teal with my chevron skirt (last worn here) and this plaid top, a clearance score from Smart Set in Toronto (literally a score, like $8 bucks!). Adding in some navy tights streamlined the whole look and the final print was a little bit of leopard in this uhh-mazing furry little vest from the girl's section at Target. Finally, I accented it with black accessories such as my knee-high boots, handbag, and sunnies.

Can we talk about this bag for a second? I originally spotted it on Bethany and had to do a triple-take since it looks exactly like the 3.1 Philip Lim Pashli satchel. It's from the Canadian retailer Danier which is known for their leather goods - both in bag and in jackets. Originally $200, it was on clearance for $100 when I stumbled up on it. Lucky for me, I know people up north and my BF's sister was able to secure the bag for me and even got a price adjustment after-the-fact for their boxing day sale, bringing down the price of this look-a-like to $75! Already I've had people commenting on it and my BFF's mom even had me order one for her as well. The leather is buttery soft, there's plenty of room to carry around all your daily necessities, and I love the gold hardware. Unfortunately it's no longer available online but check out options to save or splurge on!

I can't believe it's supposed to snow again tonight but I hope you at least get a snow day! Stay warm & wish for warm weather to come soon!

  3. Yay for mixing prints! You look fab. Re your question about d'orsays - I don't really have a problem with them making my feet look big because I have baby feet, however, I have heard this from other people. Pointed toes are definitely not for everyone ;)

    Thanks for visiting Pursuit!

  4. Thanks! I have baby feet too (size 6!) but maybe I just haven't found the perfect style for me yet. Can you pretty please send over some of the sunshine our way?
