Got My Red Dress On Tonight...

I've already told you that red is my favorite color so it shouldn't be a surprise when I tell you that my prom dress was a bright fire engine red. The other day I saw this gorgeous Laundry by Shelli Segal dress pop up on my Facebook newsfeed and it looks like an exact replica of my prom dress!

Besides the color, I loved the low cut neckline, criss-crossed straps and fully open back. I felt like a million bucks on prom night.

Well guess what? My prom dress was $25. That's right, I got my prom dress for $25 from good ole Forever 21. That means that the Laundry dress costs $250 more than what I paid! Of course I got what I paid for (look at all those wrinkles!) and since it was a stiff material without a slit, walking was a bit tough on me... don't even get me started on dancing! But that didn't matter to me, I was beyond happy with my choice. Once a bargain hunter, always a bargain hunter, right?!

On that note, I found a couple dresses from ASOS that embody some of the details on the dresses above and they both cost a fraction of the Shelli Segal dress! (Sorry, no $25 deals here). I know we are well past prom season but if you have a fall wedding coming up, either of these dresses can be your +1 (although my eye is heavily shifting to the right!)

1 / 2

Throw on a pair of gold heels, a dainty gold pendant and ring with a white clutch and you'll be the belle of the ball (besides the bride, of course).

To make this a real throwback though, you gotta see a picture of me and my dates #3musketeers

What did you wear to prom and how much did you spend on the dress? Do you still have it?

One more day til Friday!

  14. So funny you ask about prom dresses because I just found mine in my closet. Both mine were from BCBG and I spent WAY too much money on them. The only good thing is that I found ways to rewear them in college :)
