Wedding Attire

Dress: Decode 1.8 via Macy's Heels: Target Clutch: Aldo (old, similar for $21, in love with this) Earrings: TJ Maxx Bracelet: Swarovski c/o Fashionisto Diaries Ring: Gift

I know the wedding is all about the bride & groom... but how many of us spend days, weeks, months looking for the perfect dress to wear to the couple's special day? Normally I can just pull whatever dress-of-the-moment out of my closet and don it for a special event but for the wedding I attended a few weeks ago, everything in my closet felt lackluster. The groom is a very close friend of my BF's and he was in the bridal party so I wanted to put just a little bit more effort into my look for the night.

And thus the dress search began. And I am not joking when I say it did take months. Do you know how many mirror selfies I took in dressing rooms? Never in my life have I had such a hard time picking a piece of clothing. Although during the early stages, I was mainly scouring more discount retailers such as TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Nordstrom Rack, even Ross but did not come across my usual luck. I ventured into Nordstrom, Lord & Taylor, Loehman's, and even attempted to find something I could dress up at Target. Although there were many "maybes," I couldn't find "the one!" With all this effort, you would've thought it was my wedding dress I was looking for!

Enter Macy's. I don't know why I didn't look there before... I may have skimmed one store location when I was limited on time and maybe they didn't even have this dress in stock in that location so when I found this Decode 1.8 number at the Tysons Corner store, I fell in love. All-over ruched detailing resembles a body-con material but was stretchy and thick enough that you didn't have to worry about overeating at dinner. The beaded shoulder was so delicate and added the perfect hint of sparkle and I absolutely loved the peek-a-boo back. Appropriate length, not skin-tight (definitely go up a size to achieve this, though), and in a classic navy color that will ensure this is a timeless staple in my closet. The price tag was definitely not in my original budget but given the fact that I spent months of my time searching for a dress and only found this one a week before I left for Toronto... it was deemed a keeper!

Have a great weekend!

P.S. - Sorry about the lackluster photo quality... my camera wouldn't fit into my teeny tiny clutch so it was an iPhone-only sort of night!
