Winter-ize It!

Coat: H&M (old) Sweater: Francesca's Collections Skirt: Francesca's Collections Tights: The Limited (old) Boots: Circa Joan & David via Lord & Taylor (old) Hat: H&M Purse: Coach Necklace: The Limited Watch: Michael Kors Bracelet: JewelMint Ring: Mom's

I wore this outfit to walk around Mosaic District on Sunday. We had a late breakfast at Le Pain Quotidien (try their seasonal spiced apple cider! It was delicious... and I usually don't like cider) and walked around some of the shops. We also popped into the new Hyatt House to check out their lobby - love how modern and colorful the whole place is!

Now, onto the important part of this post... The outfit! This skirt and sweater from Francesca's Collections were actually the only things I bought on Black Friday. I fell in love with both and I couldn't wait until the summer to wear this skirt so I decided to find a way to winter-ize it! My idea was to keep everything else neutral so that the orange color can really pop and the gray backdrop was a great way to achieve that. The blue zipper is probably the best part of the skirt, when I turn around it's like "peek-a-boo!" :) and of course the ikat pattern is one of my favorite prints so I had no hesitation when handing over my credit card!

I got these boots a few years ago from Lord & Taylor and love the buttery soft suede, the bow detailing, and that the shaft wasn't too wide around my leg. The gray is also a great change from the usual black or brown boots I normally see/wear. What do you think of my boots and how I styled my summer skirt? Hope this might give you some inspiration so you can dust off your summer skirts and get some more use out of it this winter! Stay warm everyone!
