Holsted Jewelers Giveaway!

Holsted Jewelers Shopping Spree

Welcome to the Holsted Jewelers Shopping Spree!

If you have been following my blog you will notice that I really do not wear much jewelry... when I do, I am always wearing the same thing over and over again such as my Limited flower necklace, my Michael Kors watch, and maybe an extra bracelet or two. The main reason for this is because I normally prefer to allocate my resources towards other pretty things... like shoes! When I first checked out Holsted Jewelers site, I found that they offer an affordable range of prices for costume jewelry that doesn't look so costume-y! I also love that they offer clip-on earrings (I don't have my ears pierced) and extended sizing for their rings, down to a 5 to fit my tiny little fingers.

Holsted Jewelers was founded in 1971 and has a passion for bringing jewelry of the highest quality and the finest design to its customers. Why can't gorgeous jewelry be affordable too? Not only can you buy online but you are able to buy jewelry in convenient collections, beautifully coordinated by experts, and delivered right to your door at specially discounted prices. These collections always begin with a free piece of jewelry valued at $50 or higher...how can you beat that? 99 Boxes of Shoes on the Wall has teamed up with several other bloggers to bring you this sparkling giveaway of a $200 shopping spree at HolstedJewelers.com. You can also read a Holsted Jewelers review over at The Review Wire.

I am crushing on their selection of stackable rings (love these mixed metals, and these in a cool silvertone) and stud clip-on earrings! Please enter in the giveaway below and may the odds be ever in your favor :)

When the warmer weather approaches, I normally reach for a dress or skirt to keep me cool while I am out and about. But do you ever find yourself constantly pulling on your hemline because it keeps riding up as you walk? Or you find that it is a wee bit too short for strutting up those steep hills in Georgetown? To avoid those problems on the sunny but windy days I am happy to have a pair of bright colored cropped pants and a flowy floral top. A neutral crossbody bag was high on my must-buy list for summer - in a crisp white color with a thick strap that won't show too much wear and tear (hopefully!) and metallic details so it can easily go from casual to dressy.

And you can't forget about the shoes! Don't be scared to wear colored heels - I see the pink as a neutral and it ties in beautifully with the colors of my top. I love anything with an ankle strap as it makes walking more comfortable - and you do not have to worry about slipping out and falling flat on your face!

Do you like wearing bright colors during the summer or do you stick to a year-long black and white motif?

How Low Can You Go?

FFF 2x3

I'll be honest, one of my good friends from work inspired this week's Tuesday Shoesday post. She sent me a picture of these shoes the other day and the first thought that went through my head is "I hope I can find them for her, for cheaper!" She actually beat me to it, because she found the similar pair of Sam & Libby sandals from Target and it got me thinking how this low-wedge style has become very popular lately. I have not tried the trend myself yet, as I am normally rocking my sky high heels, but I can imagine how much more comfortable these shoes might be over a skinny stiletto or a plain ol' flat. And lucky for you, I rounded up my top picks under $50!

I think my favorites are the Dirty Laundry and BCBGeneration ones - the hint of metallic is perfect for the summer days and can easily go from dressed down at the beach to dressed up for cocktails on the patio. While a nude color can blend in with your skin and elongate the look of your legs, white can really pop against a glowing tan - and possibly even make you look darker!

Have you been indulging in the low-wedge summer trend? Which pair above are your favorite?

Maxi Chic

You know those days where you walk into Target to buy a birthday card and you walk out with a whole outfit? Yeah... that happened to me and the end result is what I wore in the picture above! Check out my Who, What, Where feature on So Work Week Chic for outfit details, including the Target sandals from my Splurge or Save post last week. Just goes to show you can be chic on a budget!

Hope your Monday is going well!

89 boxes of shoes on the wall... For the FDxWsalon event a couple weeks ago, I threw on shoe #89, my uhh-mazing Sam Edelman spiked T-strap heels. It was a crazy windy day and slightly overcast so my black leather-trimmed dress was a perfect reflection of the weather outside. To keep my legs warm (and to mask the ghostly white-ness) I threw on a pair of black sheer tights with polka dots for a bit of unexpected fun to my outfit. I felt fierce and fabulous!

Ryan of Fashionisto Diaries hosted this event with the W Salon in Burke, VA. Mainly as a tumblr meet up but there was lots of great information that could be translated into other blogging platforms as well. I also got to hang out with my blogger buddies Kelley and Sarita and meet many other bloggers out there!

I know I instagrammed and tweeted the crap out of this event (evidenced here, here, and here) but I couldn't help but share some more :)

If you've never met Sue or Souny of the W Salon yet, you must do it, soon! They are the sweetest women you will meet and they are so warm and welcoming. I love chatting with these two!

My week has been all out of whack so sorry that this post is coming up a day late! Happy Friday (finally) everyone and hope you have a fantastic weekend!
