Guess what? I graduated!!! After six grueling years of working my way through school, I can finally say that I am done and I have never felt more accomplished in my life. There is a huge weight off my shoulders, I can finally breathe and take some time to relax. And, return to the wonderful world of blogging that I've missed so much! I hope this explains my radio silence, but unfortunately I was not able to fit much time for the blog in between assignments, all-nighters, final exams, and the additional workload at the office. But, I'm back! Check out some pictures from graduation (with my fancy new DSLR... my grad gift to myself!):

Where's Waldo: Kamola Edition
Can you spot the K?

Lotsa <3 to my BFF Tina who has always been there for me... since 7th grade! (Plus, she owed me for last year when I sat through TWO of her graduation ceremonies!)

Kept my graduation outfit simple in a printed Target Dress & Vince Camuto Block Heels via DSW (recent but not available online - see 1, 2 similar picks) with a pearl bracelet & my rose gold MK watch.
The cap design I came up with at 2 am the night before the ceremony :)

Day to Night: Polka Dots

Blank NYC Faux Leather Jacket via Nordstrom (sold out, cropped version) / Cynthia Rowley Sweater via Marshalls (option) / Target Jeans (old, identical, love this one) / Onitsuka Tiger Sneakers / Express Scarf / Express Belt (on sale!) / Danier Bag (splurge) / Target Sunglasses

Today I've teamed up with Laura of Walking Memphis in High Heels to show you how she dresses up and I dress down our polka dot jeans! I think this print on a pant is perfect for a casual day out and I wanted my outfit to explode with color so I added a bright yellow sweater, my blue jacket, and purple kicks. Since it's still chilly out I threw on some leopard and black accents as well to balance the outfit. I love how Laura fancied her jeans up with a faux fur vest and black pumps and the pop of color with her mint blouse is perfect! Head over to her blog to see more of her outfit shots.

Aya, it's crunch time! About a month left of classes and finals... and then it's graduation! Although I'll be spending most of my nights the next few weeks at the 24-hours Starbucks on campus, at least the end is near! Wish me luck and forgive any radio silence til the big day... I gotta ace these classes! :)

Striped & Laced

BlankNYC Faux Leather Jacket via Nordstrom (sold out, cropped version) / H&M Striped Shirt / Target Tulip Maxi Skirt / JustFab Lace Up Heels / Target Sunnies / Express Evil Eye Necklace / Michael Kors Watch / YuniKelley Bracelet via Etsy / Nordstrom Rack Bracelet / Danier Handbag (splurge)
Photos by Bonnie Sen

Spring has finally sprung and it's time to bring the lighter fabrics and brighter colors out of hibernation. If you are still in a neutral-hued rut (like me) ease yourself into the colors of spring by throwing a brightly colored faux leather jacket on top of your blacks, whites, and greys. I think my new favorite skirt silhouette is the tulip maxi - more interesting than a regular high-lo hemline but it still flows beautifully behind you while running in your heels (as I did, when I was late to meet Bonnie). You can pick this one up for $20 bucks at your local Target! I also couldn't pass up Spring's lace up footwear trend, these JustFab beauties were a recent acquisition and I am so in love.

These pictures were shot by Bonnie Sen, a local photographer. We got together about a month ago for this shoot and although we had just met, she made me feel super comfortable in front of the camera and provided great direction on how to subtly change the pose and angles to get the right shot. The proof of her skills are all in the photos - amazing focus, details, and lighting... and it all makes my point and shoot shots look meager in comparison! Thanks for the pix, Bonnie, and hope to work with you again soon!

Have an amazing weekend!

Spring Haul

spring haul

Stripes, florals & dresses, oh my! Someone get me to a shopaholics anonymous meeting, stat! I went a little overboard in my Spring shopping this year and although the sheer volume is pretty dang high, I was able to fill a few voids in my closet while scoring some really great deals!

The top row of the collage is all from Windsor and I just placed my order yesterday so I am excited to get all the products in! I probably won't keep everything (definitely have to decide between the striped dress or the striped skirt!) and since it's my first time ordering from this retailer, I'll have to see how the fit is.

Spring calls for florals (duh), stripes, and light jackets. I needed to switch up my outerwear game with this quilted anorak from Target and a colored faux leather jacket (on sale for $40 now!). I've been wanting to try out a jumpsuit and I finally found the perfect one from Nordstrom that I can't wait to pair with these floral heels from Target (yes, Target!) Also high on my wishlist was striped shorts and a fun graphic tee and I couldn't have found any better options! Everything else was mainly impulse purchases that I hopefully will not regret.

You need to check out some of the sales that are going on right now since it's a perfect time to shop! Target is offering buy 1 get 1 50% off all women's clothing, shoes, and accessories (online only) and Express is having a major clearance blow out, just to name a few.

Have you scored any great deals lately? Share with me!

Prices listed are how much I was able to get the item for and may not reflect the current selling price.
